CPA SED Waiver Specialist

Full-Time

Essential Functions:

  • Accepts intake information from MHC's (mental health centers) and Community Developmental Disability Organizations (CDDOs) on children needing SED Waiver Respite or Intellectual/Developmental Disability (I/DD) waiver services and matches information to foster families
  • Works directly with MHC and CDDO staff to coordinate services in foster homes for children
  • Provides on-going supervision to homes providing SED and I/DD services on a monthly basis
  • Reviews daily notes submitted by foster parents
  • Ensures that foster parents attend trainings throughout the year for their annual relicensing requirements and for SED and/or I/DD certification
  • Oversees initial licensing, renewal process and exceptions as necessary
  • Conducts family assessments at time of initial licensing and renewal
  • Updates electronic record system and openings list once weekly at a minimum or upon request
  • Conducts home visits on assigned active respite families on a monthly basis
  • Facilitates support meetings and other activities for foster families regularly
  • Develops and tracks Compliance Action Plans with foster families
  • Assists in the process of recruiting and licensing new foster families
  • Prepares monthly reports that document current behaviors on each foster child in assigned homes
  • Provides crisis/on call services and 24 hour, 7 days a week support to assigned foster families
  • Maintains good working relationships and facilitates communication with the foster family, foster child, and collateral agencies and staff 
  • Requires the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Job may require the employee to be able to regularly drive to various DCCCA locations and other business locations throughout the day including early morning or evening hours

Requirements Include:

  • Requires licensure by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) at the master's level
  • Requires compliance with the BSRB's ethical practice and continuing education requirements
  • Requires completion of the KHS Credentialing Process upon hire
  • Requires a master's degree in social work or other related field 
  • Requires at least two years of child welfare and/or family services experience
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record

  • Must pass pre-employment background checks, drug screen, reference checks, and fingerprinting
