Position Overview:
- Creates a safe client environment by performing all required security and safety procedures
- Assists in the client's orientation of treatment goals, program rules and structure
- Submits a written incident report in the event of unusual client behavior or activity while in DCCCA's care
- Maintain accurate records on staff, clients and client children
- Provides direct childcare services as necessary
- Prepares age-appropriate activity plans for children newborn through 10 years
- Constructs lesson plans, childcare documents, books and other forms according to program requirements
- Maintains documentation required to meet all licensure, funding source and agency requirements
- Refers children with developmental and observed health issues to the appropriate program/community resources and medical/evaluation services
- Aids with day-to-day program operation
- Supports clinical staff with family unit evaluations
- Shares factual and pertinent client related information and assists with decision making
- Documents and maintains child census records, observation notes and parental communications systematically
- Communicates regularly with staff as related to children in care
- Requests equipment and supplies in a timely manner
- Replenishes supply and equipment inventory as necessary
- Maintains a clean and healthy learning environment for children
- Coordinates client application for, and access to, DCF child care benefits
- Submits all necessary information to DCF and self-pay parents to maximize service revenue
- Requires the ability to maintain continuing education licensing requirements, staffing and facility requirements and compliance with state-licensed day care regulations
- Job may require the employee to be able to regularly drive to various DCCCA locations and other business locations throughout the day including early morning or evening hours
Requirements Include:
- Requires an associate's degree in Applied Science and State certification in childcare and guidance, or State licensure as a day care director or ability to obtain such within agreed upon timeframes
- Requires at least one year of related experience in early childhood education
- Requires previous supervisory experience
- Requires a basic understanding of the treatment model utilized
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must pass pre-employment background checks, reference checks, fingerprinting and drug screening
