This Substance Use Disorder Counselor facilitates substance abuse screening, assessment, education and treatment services within the Douglas County Correctional Facility in Lawrence, KS.

DCCCA has been a licensed Child Placing Agency in the state of Kansas since 2001. CPA staff work with foster parents to assist in providing the best possible services for children and families. The Communications Supervisor oversees CPA Placement Specialists, cultivates relationships with Case Management Providers as well as the Department of Children and Families.

Traffic Safety Specialists cooperate with NHTSA, KDOT and other statewide partners to promote traffic safety throughout the state. This position maintains, cultivates and expands the Seatbelts Are for Everyone (SAFE) program. SAFE is a program designed to bring awareness to the importance of safety belts to young teens across the state. It is a program which partners local law enforcement, area school administrators and students.

DCCCA, Inc. provides a full continuum of alcohol and drug treatment designed to help individuals struggling with substance use. Peer Support Specialists, specially trained adults with lived experience and role models for recovery, are being sought to support and expand a Douglas County initiative. The initiative is designed to help people access social detox services in Northeast Kansas and take the first steps toward recovery. Peer Support Specialists are available during scheduled shifts to interact with patients in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. Full and Part time opportunities are available. Shifts will require evening and weekend hours.

DCCCA-Pratt offers outpatient treatment for adolescents and adults in Pratt County and surrounding communities. Treatment interventions include: individual and group counseling, assessments, family sessions, court-ordered alcohol & drug evaluations, and an eight hour Alcohol Drug Information School.
