Prevention Generalist Oklahoma

Essential Functions
- Represents the agency at local, regional, and state events by:
o Actively engages with community members to increase understanding, share vital resources, and create new partnerships.
o Appropriate plans for the needs of events considering the target audience, number of attendees, and supplies and resources needed.
o Gathers all needed supplies and recruits any additional staff or volunteer support if needed to effectively achieve the event.
- Manage Mental Health First Aid training initiatives including class coordination, instructor coordination, and reporting
o Scheduling regular open trainings, and private trainings with groups in the UCO campus
o Scheduling instructor for each course
o Serving as primary or backup instructor for courses as needed
o Ordering necessary materials
o Completing course coordination in MHFA software to connect participants to the course content.
o Schedules and leads the Mental Health Awareness Training Advisory Committee, in creating agendas, leading discussion, providing updates, and distributing meeting notes in a timely manner.
- Assists Prevention Program Manager with project implementation
o Works collaboratively with PM to ensure project initiatives meet required outcomes, while taking ownership and initiative on creating action steps.
o Gains understanding of workplan structure and requirements and thinks strategically about how to achieve the projected outcomes.
- Schedules and participates in community presentations, health fairs, etc.
o Contacts new and existing partners to promote training and resources in order to schedule new presentations and health fair participation.
- Track and maintain accurate grant outcome data and report monthly
o Collect required survey data when providing training, especially at UCO campus to meet SAMHSA grant metrics
o Complete monthly reporting as required per project
- Assists in the development of marketing materials, social media content, and media campaigns.
o Applies creativity and critical thinking when creating materials to market resources.
o Willing to learn and utilize new technologies to successfully manage email newsletters, flyer creation, and social media content planning.
- Assists with other projects related to prevention and community-based services as assigned.
- Assist with close out of Youth Traffic Safety Program
o Coordinate with Metro OKC Schools to complete the program for the 2024-2025 School year including monthly activities and the seat belt enforcement period in the spring.
o Track and report all contact with schools and final outcomes for the program.
- Must become a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor in Adult & Youth curricula within 3 months of hire, and Community-Specific Curricula as needed


Education, Experience, and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, required
- Proven community organization and facilitation experience, preferred
- Experience in mental health, substance use prevention or human services preferred
- Must possess a valid state Driver's License, in force automobile liability insurance, and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization's insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position.

- Experience creating flyers, social media graphics, and email newsletters utilizing software such as Canvas, Constant Contact, or Adobe Creative Cloud preferred but not required.
- Intermediate to Advanced Proficiency with computers and Microsoft suite of products including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective listening, oral, and written communication skills, including face-to-face, on-site, in person discussions. Exercises appropriate use of positive language.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft suite of products including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to efficiently operate other office equipment such as telephones, voicemail systems, copy and fax machines, and scanners.

Travel
This position requires travel, which may include driving personal or company-owned vehicles. It may also include driving with other passengers in the vehicle, and/or driving as a passenger with other drivers. Note: Even with a valid driver's license, certain motor vehicle infractions may render individual's ineligible to drive company-owned or personal vehicles for company business. Such infractions may also disqualify employees from continued employment with DCCCA, Inc. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.
