Full Time Prevention Specialist

Position Overview:

  • Assists with program development, implementation, reporting, and evaluation as necessary to meet funding requirements
  • Assists with coordination and subject matter content during the development of trainings, events, and conferences
  • Helps create and promote social media, website content development, and other virtual learning opportunities
  • Assists in the facilitation of prevention initiatives and meetings
  • Implements relevant prevention initiatives, including educating communities and youth to reduce the prevalence of substance misuse and abuse
  • Provides training and technical assistance to community partners related to prevention initiatives
  • Supports the implementation of substance use prevention initiatives in Douglas County

Requirements include:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Requires a minimum of one year of experience in community-based health issues and/or training 
  • Requires college hours in human services, teaching, social work, public health or related field
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
