Full Time Traffic Safety Specialist II

Position Overview:

  • Schedules, plans, markets and leads educational and training events for Employer Based and Minority centered traffic safety education and other traffic safety programs as assigned 
  • Promotes KDOT & NHTSA messaging initiatives
  • Provides content for monthly electronic newsletters and provides and updates information for the KTSRO website 
  • Identifies at-risk minority populations and works to increase their compliance with state traffic safety laws
  • Assists with child passenger safety education and programs
  • Cooperates with large employers to market traffic safety projects among employees in Kansas
  • Provides technical assistance to special interest groups
  • Distributes educational materials and provides statistics to the public/media representatives as requested
  • Prepares quarterly narrative reports on grant activities/accomplishments and submits other reports as requested

Requirements Include:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree, a bachelor's degree in a journalism, public health, teaching, communications, or other related field is preferred 
  • Requires a minimum of one year of related experience in community-based training or with a not for profit organization
  • Must be fluent in Spanish
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
