Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor - Corrections

Overview:

  • Facilitate substance abuse screening, assessment, education and treatment services within the Douglas County Correctional Facility
  • Provide individual and group counseling, based on contractual requirements established by the Douglas County Sheriff's Department and DCCCA
  • Collaborate effectively with multiple partners within the Douglas County Correctional Facility and the community
  • Lead group and individual counseling sessions
  • Assist clients in goal setting and problem solving
  • Assist clients in developing treatment and recovery plans


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, required
  • LAC or LMAC, required
  • Experience providing services to individuals in the criminal justice system, preferred
  • Experience in behavioral health or addictions treatment, preferred


Successful completion of pre-employment background screening, reference checks, and drug screening is required. Successful Douglas County Sheriff's Office pre-employment background screening, required. Class C driver's license with clear driving record, reliable personal transportation, and current automobile insurance, required.
