Under the direction of the Intern Supervisor, the intern filling this position will be expected to assist FPS staff in the following areas:

- Provides for the safety, stability and well-being of children and families during the referral period
- Completes and analyzes initial and on-going family assessments related to safety, stability and well-being, including mental health, substance abuse, education, emotional, social and physical well-being, parenting and parent-child relationships
- Provides education, and/or intervention, related to sexual abuse, domestic violence, and substance abuse prevention
- Assesses child safety and risk, initially and ongoing, assisting the family in developing a behaviorally specific safety plan and monitoring for child safety

Requirements of the Intern include:

- Bachelor's degree in the Human Services field required
- Must be in good academic standing with the college or university
- Requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week
- Some travel required
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must pass pre-employment background checks, drug screen and fingerprinting
