Seasonal Maintenance Worker

Seasonal Summer Position (20-30 hours per week)

Essential Functions:

- Maintains the facility's appearance by picking up trash and repairing or replacing broken items
- Works on structural repairs and/or remodeling projects in agency buildings
- Provides ground maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, raking and disposing       of leaves, etc.
- Reviews agency vehicles on a regular basis for necessary maintenance and assists with scheduling oil changes and car    washes
- Completes general building upkeep tasks such as replacing light bulbs/switch and outlet cover plates, light globes, smoke    alarm batteries, window screens, curtain rods and heating and air filters
- Assists with large and long term cleaning projects
- Performs repair or general Maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites including    electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glazier and painting tasks
- Repairs and treats structures such as showers, toilets, floors, sinks, walls, carpets and roofs
- Performs minor repairs, troubleshoots, and adjusts locks on cabinets, doors, closets and desks
- Changes filters on ventilating, heating, and air conditioning units
- Moves and assists in transportation of furniture and equipment
- Sets up and breaks down cubical partitions, exercising discretion to identify projects that need higher skilled crafts individual's services
- Sets up tables and chairs, etc. for meetings
- Creates a safe client environment by performing all required security and safety procedures

Requirements Include:

- Requires a high school diploma or a general education degree (GED)
- Requires one year of related experience in general building and grounds maintenance
- Requires the ability to operate basic equipment, machinery and other standard maintenance/upkeep tools

- Must possess a valid state Driver's License, in force automobile liability insurance, and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization's insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position.
