Program Coordinator GLS Suicide Prevention

Full-Time

Essential Functions:
- Implements GLS suicide prevention training efforts including suicide postvention training, CALM, QPR, Youth MHFA, and Sources of Strength
- Identifies community partners for outreach in Wyandotte County and Southeast Kansas about training opportunities
- Assesses current training capacity in designated curriculum
- Develops a listing of Kansas trainers in each curriculum
- Develops training calendars and registration links for training
- Manages training as indicated by grant agreement
- Provides consultation to trainers on suicide prevention training
- Coordinates with the Kansas Suicide Prevention Coalition to support training opportunities
- Facilitates Guiding Good Choices training
- Implements vaping initiatives such as general training and INDEPTH and NOT as requested
- Supports tobacco-free coalition efforts, including support for policy development
- Supports other community-based projects in collaboration with CBS staff
- Completes and submits all required reports and documentation on time
- Documents time and tasks as requested by the Program Director and funding sources
- Informs supervisor of professional activities and/or problems encountered
- Communicates effectively with community partners

Education, Experience, and Licensure:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree
- Must have at least two years of experience in community-based work and two years experience in suicide prevention and vaping prevention
- Requires at least two years of experience with meeting facilitation
- Must possess a valid state Driver's License, in force automobile liability insurance, and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization's insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires overall computer knowledge and proficiency with the following:
o Computerized database programs
o Spreadsheet programs
o Word processing programs
- Requires the ability to efficiently operate office equipment such as:
o Computerized e-mail systems
o Calculators, copiers, fax machines
o Telephones and voicemail systems
- Effective listening, oral, and written communication skills, including face-to-face, on-site, in person discussions. Exercises appropriate use of positive language.
- Regular and predictable on-site attendance.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft suite of products including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to efficiently operate other office equipment such as telephones, voicemail systems, copy and fax machines, and scanners.

Travel:
This position requires travel, which may include driving personal or company-owned vehicles. It may also include driving with other passengers in the vehicle, and/or driving as a passenger with other drivers. Note: Even with a valid driver's license, certain motor vehicle infractions may render individual's ineligible to drive company-owned or personal vehicles for company business. Such infractions may also disqualify employees from continued employment with DCCCA, Inc. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.
