Essential Functions
- Facilitates evidence-based training related to substance misuse prevention and mental health promotion for students, staff, and community partners.
- Presents information to community groups, churches, teachers/administrators, and parents on substance use prevention and mental health promotion.
- Supports positive student and school relations for the purpose of improving the success of prevention programming in Douglas County.
- Supports program development, implementation, reporting, and evaluation as necessary to meet funding requirements.
- Manages the coordination and subject content matter during the development of meetings, trainings, events, and conferences.
- Tracks and manages the components required for project reporting.
- Supports the Douglas County Youth Empowerment and Prevention (YEP) program and school-based partnerships of YEP.
- Assists in the coordination of Engage Douglas County meetings
- Implements relevant prevention initiatives, including educating communities and youth to reduce the prevalence of substance misuse, as well as raise awareness of suicide prevention and mental health promotion.
- Supports other prevention projects as assigned in partnership with prevention staff.
- Implements educational opportunities targeting parents of youth under the age of 18 in Douglas County.
- Coordinates Red Ribbon Week activities in coordination with YEP and Engage Douglas County.
- Coordinates prevention outreach to local universities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Licensure
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Training and experience in community organizing, substance misuse prevention, mental health promotion, or human services, preferred.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License, have in force automobile liability insurance coverage, and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization's insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position.

- Establishes and maintains appropriate boundaries with the population being served.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft suite of products including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to efficiently operate other office equipment such as telephones, voicemail systems, copy and fax machines, and scanners.

Travel
- Certain positions will require travel which may include driving personal or company-owned vehicles.
