Essential Functions
- In partnership with the Chief Development Officer and outside fundraising consultants, implements and assesses overall donor relations strategy that supports short and long-term fundraising goals.
- Manages information-tracking database (Donor Perfect) and processes the information in relation to acknowledgement, recognition, ongoing communications and continued cultivation of past and current donors to enhance their relationship with DCCCA.
- Maintains donor communication materials and inventory of general development team supplies.
- Along with the Chief Development Officer, coordinates fundraising campaign plans among agency departments to reduce overlap.
- Assists with proposals and reports as needed.
- Contributes content ideas for quarterly newsletters.
- Creates donor appeal materials, including email and mail campaigns, year-end appeal, holiday cards, etc. in partnership with the Brand Strategist and Communications Strategist.
- Collaborates with fund development/communications team regularly, including participation in communications planning with social media, video development and website updates for donor giving opportunities.
- Participates in community activities as needed for booths, photo opportunities, fundraising and donor cultivation efforts, and DCCCA storytelling/Mission Moments.
- Assists with community and DCCCA events as needed.
- Serves on DCCCA Ambassadors team.
- Broadens knowledge and education regularly through workshops, research and seminars; shares best practices and local fundraising ideas and strategies with the team.
Education, Experience, and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations or relevant field
- Must possess creativity and analytical ability and be self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Experience with nonprofit fundraising preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
- Must have skill and experience working with teams at all levels of the organization and maintaining critical relationships with staff, management, constituents, and partners
- Must possess a valid state Driver's License, in force automobile liability insurance, and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization's insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position

- Requires the ability to efficiently operate office equipment such as:
o Computerized e-mail systems
o Calculators, copiers, fax machines
o Telephones and voicemail systems
- Effective listening, oral, and written communication skills, including face-to-face, on-site, in person discussions. Exercises appropriate use of positive language.
- Regular and predictable on-site attendance.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft suite of products including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to efficiently operate other office equipment such as telephones, voicemail systems, copy and fax machines, and scanners.

Travel
This position requires travel, which may include driving personal or company-owned vehicles. It may also include driving with other passengers in the vehicle, and/or driving as a passenger with other drivers. Note: Even with a valid driver's license, certain motor vehicle infractions may render individual's ineligible to drive company-owned or personal vehicles for company business. Such infractions may also disqualify employees from continued employment with DCCCA, Inc. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.
